About

We've curated the perfect full day Hinterland adventure giving you the opportunity to immerse your senses in the very best produce the region has to offer.

The locals will tell you the best way to experience the Hinterland is to pack a picnic and hit the windy road. So sit back and enjoy a chauffeured tour in an air-conditioned vehicle, while our expert tour guides share with you the history and romance of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Your experience begins with your tour guide picking you up from your accommodation and taking you to meet Lauren and her Camel family at QCamel Dairy.

Lauren will take you on a guided tour of the dairy farm explaining its history, her absolute love of Camels, passion for ethical farming and focus on providing premium health care products and produce including the only Certified Organic Camel Milk in the world. You'll get the opportunity see a live milking demonstration, then meet the Camel family, where hugs are encouraged and welcomed by the affectionate Camels. Morning tea will then be served offering you a range of gluten free crackers, chemical and spray free seasonal fruit, freshly made warm damper, chesses including Camel cheese, organic tea, percolated coffee and camel milk.

You'll then have free time to spend with the Camels, explore their produce and health care or simply enjoy the panoramic view of the Glasshouse Mountains with a second cup of your favourite hot beverage.

We farewell Lauren and her Camels for a scenic drive past the Glasshouse Mountains where your guide will explain the history behind their English name given by Captain James Cook and the Aboriginal legend of a father and mother gathering their many children seeking refuge in the mountains form the rising sea. Your journey continues through the small towns of Beerwah, Landsborough, past Australia Zoo and up the winding mountain of Bald Knob to the iconic Barrel at Clouds Vineyard.

At this iconic destination, shaped like a giant wine barrel on the grounds of Clouds Vineyard in Maleny, you're invited to wander through the picturesque vineyard and rose garden taking in the breathtaking view of the ever present Glasshouse Mountains. Here you'll enjoy a wine flight offering a variety of unwooded chardonnay, Shiraz Rose, Merlot and Shiraz from Granite Ridge Wines in the Granite Belt region of South East Queensland, accompanied by a grazing platter of local produce including cheese, cured meats, fruit and fresh bread.

Your next destination is Brouhaha Brewery, founded by locals who have a true love and passion for their region and high quality, locally sourced produce. The team at Brouhaha have set themselves a mission to educate the community and its visitors in the art of craft beer. Their core range has been carefully crafted and designed to tempt the average beer drinker to explore a new style of beer and start a journey with craft brewing and drink better beer.

Here you'll enjoy a tasting paddle from their core rage including their Maleny Larger, IPA, Strawberry Rhubarb Sour and Hinterland Pale Ale. With a rotation of 10 inhouse brews on tap, beers can be swapped to your liking. Your guide will share their philosophy behind the beer making process, taking you step by step through the brewing process in an in-depth tour of the brewery and give you an understanding of the beers in front of you. Lunch will also be served during this stop and includes a range of entrees and pizzas, made from only the best and freshest local produce the region has to offer.

The last destination of the day is a favourite with locals and anyone with a sweet tooth and appreciation for handmade delicacies. Established in 2006 for the local market, Lief Chocolates has established itself as a premium product in the region, with demand for their products moving the operation to a permanent location in Maleny. Maleny Chocolate Co. uses premium Belgian chocolate coverture as a base for their delicious creations that are made fresh onsite.

Without compound chocolate, preservatives and artificial flavours, the team combine local ingredients including Maleny Dairy Milk, macadamias, citrus and coffee beans that have been organically ground onsite and honeycomb that's made from scratch, onsite. Here you'll view the team at work, taste some delicious samples of their premium chocolates and meet chocolatier Steve, who'll take you through the process of their hand made, small batch chocolates."
